Okay, I'm new to this whole thing ( Home brewing and to this website) and i need a question answered that i'm still unsteady on. i found a recipe for a root beer that i want to try and it had sassafras as one of the ingredients. next to it it stated a warning that said natural sassafras is no longer sold because it has health concerns. ???? So is sassafras still sold? is there something else to it? Is the warning even real? just wondering if ya'll could solve my predicament.
Welcome MTbrewer777. Check out the Questions page or search the forums for FDA for more details on why the FDA banned the use of sassafras in 1960 and for replacement options. _________________ Bottoms up!
