I've been searching for a root beer that my dad would bring home on Friday nights for Friday Fright Night theater. He was a diabetic, but Fridays were his nights to splurge with me, his eldest son. I grew up in northwest central Minnesota and the root beer he would bring home came in six packs, the bottles were about the size of a "pony" bottle and were in the shape of a barrel. It was the best root beer I have ever tasted, but I have been unable to find it in all of my 30 years of searching, tasting, researching, and enjoying other brands...
If anyone has a clue or memory about this root beer, I would be very grateful for information.
I had Roscoe's in a small bottle in Rochester, MN - it was very good, but the bottle wasn't shaped like a barrel. _________________ Bottoms up!

Wow, can't believe that no one has replied to this with the answer, given that you're talking about the best root beer on earth. That would be 1919 brand root beer, sold only draft style so you can buy it by the keg or in the little pony keg you are talking about. Check out their website for more info.
