Hello,
I've been making root beer for several months now using Zatarain's. Generally, I've had great luck with it and have really enjoyed my new hobby. Now, I'm ready to move on.
I'd like to start making my own extracts, and I'd like to make it in large quantities. Unfortunately, most recipes that specify a home-made extract also include making the root beer at the same time.
I've seen a reference to a book that 's supposed to have a good extract recipe, but I don't know if it's a recipe that requires you to make a batch of root beer with the extract as well. Again, what I'm interested in is producing a larger quantity of extract that I can store and use as I like, rather than producing the extract with each batch of root beer.
Are there any solid links / basic FAQs on this specifically?
