After brewing up our first batch about 4 hours after capping the bottles with the yeast activated the culture seems to be floating in the bottom. Is this an indication that the yeast has died? We sanitized everything and the temperatures were all right so I'm not sure why they would have died. I guess we'll find out in the next 2 days if no CO2 is produced...

This is normal. I went to force carbonating because of this unattractive sediment. Just pour it slow.
