I tried the new float from A&W, it was simply horrible. Has anyone else tasted it?

I bought a pack a while back and it is still sitting on my kitchen counter, waiting it's turn to be opened.

What didn't you like about it?

Tasted like medicine. It just didn't have that root beer flavor.

I have to wonder about this. A lot of people say that a lot of root beer and floats taste like medicine. What ingredients (or lack of) causes a medicine taste?

I didn't get a medicine taste from it. But the taste was pretty off. I can see where they were trying to go with it, but the execution just was't there.

I can see how some get the taste of maybe melted ice cream and root beer. but if anything it would have to be flat root beer.

As I've said in all my other reviews on this stuff. It's WAY too sweet and has a very strong taste of those carmel creme candies I had when I was a kid. I hated those candies.

This product is better left on the shelf. The sunkist Float version is more palletable, but not a daily drinker.

Try Bawl's new root beer flavored energy drink with Guarana, they call it G33K B33R, it's surprisingly good.

Soda-MN-Good,

I cracked open a bottle today in the hopes of having it with my lunch and I completely agree with your assessment. It is *way* too sweet and it definitely had a bit of caramel taste to it. That's not the taste I was hoping for. Looking at the side of the bottle, the nutritional information says it has a whopping 62g of sugar and I think that is what hurts the taste.

I will keep a bottle for my budding bottle collection but the rest goes down the drain.

I ended up having another Thomas Kemper root beer with my lunch.
