Since rootbeerworld.com is an otherwise authoritative source for information on root beer, I'd like to point out a small correction that needs to be made: on the "Questions" page, under "How do I carbonate root beer?," the author twice states that "carbon gas" is used to carbonate root beer. This is incorrect; it is carbon dioxide gas. Yeast produce carbon dioxide gas during fermentation, and dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (which changes into carbon dioxide gas as it absorbs energy from the air.)

I could send my students here and challenge them to find the chemistry errors...but I'd feel it was unfair to do so without at least giving those who maintain the site a heads-up!

Thanks for the site. I have actually sent my students to the site for other information, including the recipe for simple root beer.

Sorry for the long delayed response - and thanks for pointing out the error, which has been corrected. Feel free to provide any additional corrections (chemistry or otherwise)...
