looking for some info on a magnus root beer stein. I bought it at a sale a few blocks from my house and I have very little info on this compony. it sits on a post setup the clamps to the edge of the table. it reads magnus root beer it's fine in the stein. the onlly two pictures I have seen of the tyep had a pump for a top this does't just a cap and a spicket. I can send pictuers if anyone is interested. thanks for the help

The Magnus Root Beer Co. was started by my great grandfather Joseph A Magnus. Prior to prohibition the family was in the spirits business. With prohibition they started making root beer rather then whiskey.

I'm not sure how long the family stayed in the root beer business although from family stories it lasted until the mid to late 30's.

Your jug most likely dates from the 30's. If yours is like mine there is also a spigot on the back side of the jug.

If I get any more information, I'll send it on.
